The National Association of Cross River State Students had its Cultural Day on the 8th of May 2024. The event was part of the numerous activities that made up the National Association of Cross River State Students (NACRISS) University of Calabar Students week 2024.
The Cultural Day was an opportunity for Cross River State Students in the University of Calabar to showcase the culture of their various communities as well as encourage others on the need for cultural integration, development, unity as well as foster cultural participation among students.
Students from various Local Government Areas in Cross River State took part in the Cultural Day competition which included dances, masquerades etc.
The National Association of Etung Students and National Association of Akamkpa Students University of Calabar Chapter presented Monenkim dances. It is important to note that though both Students Associations presented the Monenkim dance, they were different variations. This was obvious seen in their costumes. Egbor-ntem maasq was also showcased.
As earlier stated, this was a competition and National Association of Akamkpa Students University of Calabar Chapter came first while National Association of Etung Students University of Calabar Chapter was the third runner-up.
